Autocatalytic Nickel Infusion (A.N.I) is the latest technological advance in electroless nickel deposition. It is a specially developed process used for severe environment protection of the UniTorq actuator. The UniTorq process of A.N.I. uses a higher concentration of phosphorous in the nickel bath than normal electroless nickel plating processes. The extra phosphorous results in a harder evenly infused nickel deposition over the entire surface. The finished UniTorq A.N.I actuator therefore, has a superior corrosion protection and greater hardness. Another advanced feature of the A.N.I. process is the utilization of a special pioneered "real time x-ray deposition monitor". The device allows complete control for the exact uniform nickel deposit desired. This process is the most advanced procedure available today.
Autocatalyticly Nickel Infused Actuator For Severe Environment Actuator Protection
| A.N.I |
X-ray controlled
high phosphorous electroless autocatalytic nickel infusion. |
| A.N.I Benefits &
Advantages |
Greater corrosion
resistance and greater hardness with infused deposition control. |
| A.N.I. vs.
Electroplating |
A.N.I. is an
extremely uniform method. Electroplating, due to high and low areas of
current density, results in heavy deposit build up in corners and minimal or
no coverage in recesses. |
| X-ray Real Time
Deposition Control |
The UniTorq
process of advanced x-ray monitoring techniques ensures a uniform A.N.I
infused deposition during the process. It does not rely on variable
dependant chemical control and timing procedures. Thickness can be
controlled to within a .01-micron tolerance. |
| High Phosphorous
Concentration |
13% phosphorous -
87% nickel solution vs. other using 10% - 12% phosphorous. |
| Nickel Deposition |
20μ
is held uniformly over the entire surface. |
| Improved Hardness |
As plated hardness
from 53 to 58 Rc vs. others at 45 to 49 Rc. |
